Young Footsteps Women Become Entrepreneurs

NEWS RELEASE

Once in awhile we find news that makes us happy. It never hits the front page but nonetheless, it is newsworthy. There are two sisters, sisters by birth and sisters by the challenges they have shared growing up. The news that makes us happy is that they have succeeded through sheer determination and through the determination of women who have helped them along the way. Florinda and Maria Diego now work part time, go to college full time and have learned creative ways to supplement their incomes, increase their savings and be contributing members of our community.

On Saturday, July 18th from 8 am to 1 pm at Rene’s Restaurant at the Corner of College and McGregor in Ft. Myers, Florinda and Maria will be holding a sale of One of a Kind Designer Pillows they have created with the guidance of Florinda’s Footsteps to the Future Mentor Sue Kester, owner of Raine Interiors.

Footsteps to the Future is a nonprofit program in Lee and Collier Counties that mentors young women who are aging out of Foster Care without skills to become successful members of our community. Members of Footsteps will be on hand at Rene’s with delicious baked goods for sale at the Bakery to fund “The Footsteps Night Out” another idea of Florinda’s for social events for the young women mentored by Footsteps to the Future.

Footsteps to the Future supports the entrepreneurial spirit of all women, especially the young women it supports. Please stop by the event for more information about how you can help mentor young women or call Judi Woods at 239 275-5834 or visit our website www.footstepstothefuture.org
